4-Step Skin Care Regimen

To keep your skin as youthful as possible, proper skin care is important. In this
article, we’ll introduce you to the Basic 4-Step Skin Care Regimen. Learn to
incorporate these steps into your beauty regimen and you’ll be rewarded with
young and glowing skin.

Step 1: Cleansing
Cleansing your skin is fairly simple. Be sure to find a good facial cleanser that your
skin would respond well to and stick with it.
You can head over to the drugstore and find a good cleanser. Avoid bar soaps that
would dry out your skin. If you have dry skin, use a creamy cleanser. If you have oily
skin, a clear cleanser would be your best option.
Don’t forget to wash your face at night to remove the sunscreen and makeup as it
could clog your pores. Also, be sure to remove your eye makeup using a makeup
remover. Be careful not to rub too hard as the skin around the eye area is delicate.

Step 2: Exfoliate
Most people skip this step in their skin care routine. Trust me. You’ll notice an
immediate difference once you start exfoliating your skin.
Here are a few exfoliation options that you can use on a weekly basis:
• Facial scrub – You can buy a facial scrub or make your own.
• A washcloth – Sprinkle white sugar and a dab of cleanser on a damp
washcloth and massage it on your face in a circular motion.
• Chemical peel – This could take a few years off from your face.

Step 3: Moisturize
If you have dry skin, investing on a basic moisturizer is necessary. Your skin will tell
you how much moisturizer you need. If your skin feels tight, it definitely needs
moisture. Be careful not to over-moisturize though as it could clog your pores.

Step 4: Apply sunscreen
Sun damage is the number 1 cause of wrinkles. So, it is best to invest on a
sunscreen with an SPF of at least 30. Use it daily, even on a cloudy day or during
the winter months. You can also use 2 types of moisturizers – 1 for the day that includes UV Protection
and 1 for night. Moisturizers with sunscreen should not be used at night as its
ingredients are not supposed to be used 24/7. Plus, it could aggravate your skin
instead of repairing it.

When choosing a sunscreen, make sure it contains Helioplex or Mexoryl.
